Thao is an incoming Master’s student studying climate science in the Earth and Planetary Science Department. Motivated by her upbringing as an immigrant and daughter of war refugees, she turned to the physical sciences to understand climate phenomena and curtail the emergence of climate refugees/migrants through a scientific lens. She strives to prioritize the needs and experiences of global at-risk populations in her climate research and action. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys exploring new physical activities (currently into backpacking, running, gym, yoga) to ground her mental health.
