SERC Membership Program
SERC Membership’s goal is to provide individual students the opportunity to help build a collaborative, inclusive student community around sustainability. We aim to preserve institutional memory around environmental projects, build a more cohesive community, and get new students plugged into existing events. Members will have access to various membership benefits, including structured volunteer opportunities, project and event management experience, leadership development, and social events. Members will be able to join different committees led by SERC staff members based on their skills and interests. This is an opportunity to work with other like-minded individuals to research & compile resources, get hands-on experience with project management, and plan events for the environmental community. The SERC Membership program has grown exponentially in recent years and we are so excited to continue to offer this program.
DeCal Fellowship
The Student Environmental Resource Center (SERC) at UC Berkeley strives to sponsor a network of well-designed and skillfully-facilitated DeCals focused on sustainability and the environment. The SERC DeCal Fellowship supports students achieving SERC’s vision of “Sustainability education for every UC Berkeley student.”
The Leaflet
The Leaflet is a student-driven environmental news platform that covers campus, local, national and global sustainability stories. Student-produced articles are shared with and read by the UC Berkeley campus community and greater global community. Through the Student Environmental Resource Center (SERC), the publication was able to receive funding from The Green Initiative Fund (TGIF) in 2019.
Environmentorship
In order to create pathways for engagement between alumni, professionals, and students, SERC’s mentorship program fosters an encouraging space for all participants to grow both professionally and personally. This year-long program matches student Enviromentees with Enviromentors currently working in the environmental field, and offers the opportunity to network with students and professionals who share similar passions.
The Student Environmental Resource Center is always looking for interested and motivated folks to support with events and programming! If nothing above catches your eye or if you have questions, please reach out to serc@berkeley.edu
