Media Associate (Hiring Lead: Andy)

As every staff member of our SERC team participates in producing incredible and intentional work, it is crucial that our media marketing team play a role in uplifting such contributions. SERC’s Media Associate (formerly known as graphic designer) directly assists these goals in creating digital content to inclusively promote SERC’s events, programming, and collaborations throughout the year.

SERC’s Environmental Justice Associate is responsible for creating these resources for the broader UC Berkeley campus community through independent research and collaboration.

Outdoor Education Associate (Hiring Leads: Jed and Tina)

SERC’s outdoor education department is getting off the ground! Outdoor education through camping, backpacking, and other outdoor trips (hiking, kayaking, birding, etc) will be provided to all, especially underrepresented and marginalized communities, including but not limited to BIPOC, QT+, and trauma survivor populations to reconnect with themselves and their communities through healing activities/reconnection with nature.

Additional Information: The Food Collective is a member-governed collective operated by 130 weekly volunteers. Simply put, volunteers from the community are the lifeblood of our nonprofit; ensuring that their experience is overwhelmingly positive is paramount to the health of our collective. This year, our elected student Board of Directors has opted to invest heavily in redesigning the membership experience to make members’ time at the Collective more educational, social, and materially-beneficial — from the time they think about joining until long after they leave.
