Social Marketing Associate (Hiring Lead: Ulyses)
Media Associate (Hiring Lead: Andy)
As every staff member of our SERC team participates in producing incredible and intentional work, it is crucial that our media marketing team play a role in uplifting such contributions. SERC’s Media Associate (formerly known as graphic designer) directly assists these goals in creating digital content to inclusively promote SERC’s events, programming, and collaborations throughout the year.
Environmental Justice Associate (Hiring Lead: Gabby Christina)
One key component of environmental movement building is environmental justice education—specifically that which is inclusive, intersectional, and decolonial. SERC’s Environmental Justice Associate is responsible for creating these resources for the broader UC Berkeley campus community through independent research and collaboration.
Outdoor Education Associate (Hiring Leads: Jed and Tina)
SERC’s outdoor education department is getting off the ground! Outdoor education through camping, backpacking, and other outdoor trips (hiking, kayaking, birding, etc) will be provided to all, especially underrepresented and marginalized communities, including but not limited to BIPOC, QT+, and trauma survivor populations to reconnect with themselves and their communities through healing activities/reconnection with nature.
Leaflet Editor in Chief (Hiring Lead: Kiana)
The Leaflet is SERC’s online publication dedicated to sharing environmental stories and news. We are looking for a student that is passionate about writing and storytelling through an environmental justice lense, and who is prepared to lead a team of Leaflet writers and editors towards creating up to date, weekly articles.
Graduate Student Liaison (Hiring Lead: Jed, Teresa, Sharon)
We’re looking for a graduate student who would be interested in assessing graduate student needs for the SERC/environmental community, supporting graduate student programming, events, panels, and/or workshops, supporting environmental grad organizations and building and strengthening partnerships with graduate student groups like ESPM Graduate Diversity Council, and outreaching to various departmental grad students, create culture of community amongst sustainability grad students
Berkeley Student Food Collective Membership Experience Associate
This student staff-person will be responsible for taking leadership in planning, and execute on a vision of executing on and improving our plans for co-op member recruitment, ongoing engagement, retention, and their ongoing social experience throughout.
Additional Information: The Food Collective is a member-governed collective operated by 130 weekly volunteers. Simply put, volunteers from the community are the lifeblood of our nonprofit; ensuring that their experience is overwhelmingly positive is paramount to the health of our collective. This year, our elected student Board of Directors has opted to invest heavily in redesigning the membership experience to make members’ time at the Collective more educational, social, and materially-beneficial — from the time they think about joining until long after they leave.
